Question

Locked

Is this a virus? a .LCK file?

By dominisc880 ·
Well, a very strange file appear on my server. Its filename like: xxx.php.LCK. I download and open in notepad, the content was my computer name and my email address. I dont think I put this file up to my server and I am the only one who can login to my server. Isnt it obvious? My website being attacked by hacker? Is the .LCK a virus? Can I just delete it away?

Hopefully this is correct. After googling, I found this: http://muffinresearch.co.uk/archives/2005/11/22/dreamweaver-lock-files-exposed/

It was a file created from dreamweaver to prevent others users (coworkers) work on it.

And yep, I am using dreamweaver CS3 :)

Well if you are using Dreamweaver

That is likely to be what it is but it could just as easily apply to a Data Base that you have locked or any other Application that allows the Admin to Lock Files for security.
