Remote user getting “An error occured while importing the Beach data:3170 Couldn’t find installable ISAM.” Is this a registry setting, or will a reinstall of Access correct the error? Remote user on MS Office 95. Thanks! Lynn

This probably isn’t any help, but my experience with ISAM is that it is a file type, an indexed sequential file, and I didn’t think it was the of same type as Access.

usually this means the file conversion function for the file type was not installed. usually occurs when you use a TYPICAL install with Access then try to import a file type not supported. This could mean for example, you are trying to link/import Dbase tables and the Dbase converter is not installed. We have seen this with a bad install/corrupted install also and removing and reinstalling helps in that case. But the most normal cause is the first I outlined.
