This situation is complicated but I will try to keep it informed but short. Basically I inherited a mess of a network and I have been trying to update it; when I arrived, it had a DC/DHCP server (server 2003), router, firewall/content filter, and switches. I have tried to bring in a few nice things like wireless for instance and as of this year some terminal clients. In the process, for whatever reason the WAPS we are using where constantly loosing connection. I had them set to receive their IP from DHCP so I changed this to static and gave them all the correct information. Now that I have done that I am not getting a gateway on the PCs that are connecting wirelessly. I get the proper IP range and subnet but no gateway at all. My Question:
Is there a way (in server 2003) to designate what DHCP server a WAP receives its information from? I looked in the admin of the WAP and there was nothing of the sort. The secondary DHCP server is where it is getting this information (I know this due to the scope it is issuing) and that server is for the thin clients. I know there must be a way but honestly have never been faced with this problem and I have googled the heck out of it. Thanks for any help you can provide.
