*.jpeg, *.tmp file transfer is very slow in LAN

Hi,
I have a network with 30 windows XP Pro Systems.n all connected to same workgroup.i connected this network with 2 D-Link 24 port 100/10mbps Unmanageable Switches. The problem is when i'm downloading some kind of files like (*.exe, *.dwg)from file server to other client or one client to other client the file transfer is very fast.100MB file takes less than a minute. But To download some kind of files like(*.jpeg, *.tmp)1MB file taking 5 Min n are very Very slow.

Please give me the solution to speedup these file transfer

Really depends where the files are located within the ...

Directory structure of the host machine.

By the nature of the files, EXE files are likely to be fairly close to the root of a particular hard drive, perhaps only 2 or 3 levels down into the directory tree.

However, JPEG and TMP files are likely to be buried deep in the internal directory tree of the hard drive. The filepath to access these files may be excessive in terms of characters in the complete file address. Try transferring these files TO and then FROM a higher location in the directory tree.
