keeping "i-lookup.com" out of I.E. home

By Devinefv ·
I have not been able to remove I-lookup.com as the default home page address. I can go to the I.E. "tools" pull down, "Internet Options", and re-specify another home page, but after surfing the net a while, the Home page setting resorts to:"I-lookup.com" again. I set my desired home page, and [without accsessing the net] re-booted my system. My desired Home page was preserved, and i-lookup did not re-insert itself . Does anybody know the answer to this one?

You can try running a spy-ware removal tool such as Spybot Search and Destroy

http://tinyurl.com/bgig

Or, AdAware from Lavasoft
www.lavasoft.de

Another option, is to install a start page guard program.

Lavasoft failed to stop it! The start page guard program may work [havn't tried it though]
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the specific "crapware" that you're talking about, but in dealing with other, seemingly similar annoyances I've sometimes found that you can remove it from the "C:\Downloaded Program Files" folder. Hope this helps.
