I am working on a HP Pavilion 4450 PC. The combination modem/sound card went bad.(No Sound) I replaced it with a Motorola modem and a Guillemot Maxi Sound Muse card. The Muse was one of the only cards I could find that would power the HP unamplifiedspeakers. Everything seemed to be working great. Drivers were good and Windows (98 Second Ed). recognized both cards. Now the problem. When I shut down the PC it boots right back up again. It will not shut down! I removed the modem and had the same problem. When I removed the sound card (Which is in the same PCI slot as the old HP card) the PC shut down normaly.What is the deal with this thing? Any suggestions?
