Key Shortcut Issue for Internet Explorer

By planet1 ·
I have a users PC that is using Windows 98SE, and Internet Explorer 6.0. Everything works fine but the keyboard shortcuts. The user likes to use the feature that fills in the http://www. .com using the Ctrl/Enter key-shortcut after typing in for example "techrepublic". (Example - techrepublic then Ctrl/Enter = http://www.techrepublic.com).

The issue is that this keyboard shortcut doesn't work on this PC in IE. I would like to get this feature to work for this user.

What do I do to get this to work?

interesting.. didn't know it was there...

but .. in most cases, when something goes wrong with IE.. its IE causing it..

go to add / remove programs.. select IE6 to remove.. when the un-installer starts, it will offer you the options to repair, uninstall, reinstall.

do the repair.. see if that works..

also try defaulting the options pages under Tools - Internet Options to see if there was anything there the CTRL Enter didn't like.
