keyboard uninstall?

By a_longhorn_ ·
I installed a rocketboard keyboard, with CD software. Now I've gone back to a regular keyboard, but cannot uninstall the rocketboard. Their website seems to have diappeared, as the link takes me to a domain selling site?
Each time I boot I get an error message that part of the program is missing, " C:\PROGR~1\RBRD~1\RBRD.VXP"
I've tried all uninstall methods to no avail.
Thanks!

This may help
You may have software that has its own uninstall, which needs to be done from the Programs menu

Reinstall the keyboard program, then click Start->Programs,then look for the keyboard features, you want to use the uninstall from here ifpresent.

You should be able to remove the old keyboard from device manager and specify a new, or let Windows autodetect the new.

To get rid of the error you mention, you have to find where the system is trying to load the now defunct vxd file. I'd first suspect the registry, but other options could be win.ini or startup folders. Check the 'RUN'and 'RUN SERVICES'keys of the registry under HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\. I suspect you'll see a key specified to load that vxd, if so,delete it.

Since you did not mention what OS you are using, if it is W95 or W98, use SYSEDIT at the run selection on the start menu. Look for the entry in the 3rd or 4th menu back and delete any entry with that file mentioned. Then click "save and exit" on theFile menu. On reboot it should no longer have that problem.
