    Kindle Fire – Repairing Screen

This Kindle Fire had a broken USB port (common defect). Replaced that by soldering in a new one, but now seems to have a weird screen issue, where the screen seems to have split in two, one side whitish and the other greenish. Everything else seems to work fine.
Here’s a pic of the screen:

Doesn’t look like a screen issue to me

Much more likely a M’Board issue where the wrong signal is being sent to the screen. I would be looking at the soldering job you did and check for cross tracking or worse still the Video Chip Set being degraded.

Either way it tends to point to a new M’Board being required.

@HAL – it is looking like mobo the more I read on the issue, apparently the soldering did something (heat damage) to the mobo.
