I have been asked to research and purchase a KVM switch for the organization I work for. Unfortunately, other than the SOHO types, I have never looked into an enterprise type KVM switch.
I hear IP-based KVM switch is the way to go, but can be rather expensive. I have a budget of around $1,500.00 and would need at least an 8-port switch that can be expanded at a later time if needed.
Can anyone make some recommendations as to where I should look or specific brands I should go with or stay away from?
We currently have 4 servers and plan to buy 2 more servers and run virtual server on them.
