I have a Toshiba Satellite 4000 CDS that keeps buring up modems. It first started when it was still under warranty but I could never get them to replace the modem. I bought a Best Data 56K PC Card modem and it worked for about three months and now it quit working also. One day it worked and the next day it would not. Windows sees the modem and when I run the more info on the modem settings it shows all the AT commands. Any Help would be greatly appriciated. Thank You

In working with a couple of different brandnames the problem of "fried PCMCIA cards" was a bad frame connection on 2 of the 3 laptops. The third laptop was because of line surges (modular). should the Satellite still be under warranty (hope so) demand service or a "hot swappable" replacement system. Requirements for warranty issues have specific legal requirements from the vendor and also from the manufacturer. The longer you put it off, the more the warranty continues to expire. Good luck.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
