I have a Sony laptop bought in 99. When I boot into normal 98 mode, it powers off before completing the loading of all programs. I removed all programs from startup and MSCONFIG (Except for Systray and LoadPower Profile) and still get the same results. I just formatted the harddrive, FDISK it, formatted it again and loaded 98 only back on it. While completing the install, it booted up to find the devices and powered off again. It keeps shutting off before it can complete the installation of hardware. (Nothing is attached. Its just going through the process of locating the chipset etc…) A few moments after the poweroff, the fan starts to run again. Any suggestions?
P.S. It boots into Safe Mode fine.
