LEASED LINE or ISDN

By rajivnarayanan@hotmail ·
Irrespective of any factor...what are the criteria one need to look for before going in for a leased line and ISDN ? or When should I go for a leased line and when for an ISDN ?

LEASED LINE or ISDN

Look at
1. bandwidth required
2. occupancy (e.g. 2 hours a day)
3. latency between need and connection; for ISDN his is still 1-2 seconds.

And make price comparison. Using the answer on 2. to calculate ISDN cost as this is partly time-based.
Note that in many parts of the world, leased line is now slowly disappearing in favor of VPN tunneled over Internet. So depending on your situation you could also take this into account.

Have fun,
