lexmark 1200 color problem

We have a lexmark 1200 Optracolor printer. It works fine with most applications but we are using Printshop 10 to do our company posters, newsletters etc. When we send a print job to the printer (a simple border and three lines of text), it spools a 7 Mb or greater print job. Have tried printing directly to printer, print as a bitmap, lowering resolution, changing printer drivers, but no luck. Any other ideas except get a real desktop publishing program?

its a long shot but how big is the file before printing? you may want to reduce the actual size of the picture, not magnafication, but the image size itself. there should be a seperate operation for that…….

The file size itself is small< 1 Mb in size.
