linking 2 network hubs with 2 cables

By DaGobbler ·
We have 6 computers conected. 3 pc's on each side conected to 2 x 8 port switches and 2 switches connected with network cable.

Constantly sending files back and forth. Wil it speed up tranfering of files if I connect a second cable between switches and how do I set it up.

What will happen is switch 1 will broadcast a packet, switch 2 will receive it on one interface and rebroadcast it throught the other interface back to switch 1 which will receive it on one interface and broadcast it out the other interface to switch 2, which will receive it on one interface and brodcast it out the other interface back to switch 1, which will........

Some switches have a way to team ports together to act as one, but it takes some knowledge to set that up and I don't think that you would get much benefit out of that anyway with such a small network.
