Local Website Problem

By george.jenkins ·
I'm hosting a website from a local server. The DNS name has been registered and everyone on the Internet can see the website except the PC's on the same local subnet. Everytime they resolve the IP to DNS name, they go out of the subnet and never come back in to find the server. I've tried updating their Route table, changing their DNS so the local DNS server can point them to the right place but nothing works. Does ne1 know how to fix this?

Add the internal IP address of the server to the Hosts file on each PC. The file you need to edit is C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

The format of the entry is:
192.168.xx.yy mydomain.com
where 192.168.xx.yy is the internal IP address of the server.
