Log on to Domain over PPTP

By jonhunt2 ·
Hello all:

I set up a PPTP VPN, but this does not log me into the Domain nor run the login scripts. How can I logon to the domain after Windows XP (Tablet edition) has already booted and connected to the network over a VPN? Server Windows Server 2003 with RRAS configured for the VPN connection.

Thanks,
Jon

Just to recap, do you have the proper ports pointed on your router/firewall(That is if you have a router/firewall). But it sound like your already connecting OK! So lets move on.
If so and everything is connecting fine, what if you map the drives and check reconnect this drive at logon? Then they will be there everytimes you login. Worth a shot I guess.

Hope this helps!

you are logging into the domain...just link whatever scripts to the usernames. You may want to go back into RRaS and set everything up again...

Thanks.

Yes, I'm connecting fine over the VPN connection. I double-click the VPN connection, username and password are verified and I get a assigned an IP address from my network at work. I'm using the same username/password (and actually the same computer) as I do at work - where the my drives are auto-mapped and printers are available when I'm connected at the office. When I connect off-site over the VPN, I just get a connection. In order to start the computer off-site I have to log into Windows, but once I connect - how can I get the other services to start automatically?? Is there a login.exe that will re-run the scripts????

Still stumped,
Jon
