Log on to domain taking longer time

By irshad84 ·
It is taking a long time to logon to server.I have a log on script that greets the user based on their names. But it aint working as well.

People are not getting their mapped drives.

i had made some changes in OU of the AD.i reversed those changes.
But still the problem is the same.

when i log on to remote machine, the greeting message for user does not come up with the persons name,
but when i logon to server i get message with the username.

Can anyone tell me what is the issue in my companies network.

Check DNS settings

by techpatriot In reply to Log on to domain taking l ...

Whenever I've had problems with long logon times it's always come down to a DNS problem. Check to make sure the DNS settings issued by the DHCP server are set correctly or if you are using static IPs, make sure the correct DNS IPs are set.

Is this for more than one person, how are profiles being loaded, from a server or local machine. How about you create a new user log onto a machine see how long it takes. Also as other person said check dns records. Check network load, and all the other things above.
