Hi Veronica. I hope you have the answer to my problem b/c it’s driving me nuts trying to figure out what the problem is. This has been going on for quite sometime & I can’t figure out what’s causing it. I’m far from being a ‘wizard’ myself & still have a lot to learn about computers. The question:I have Windows 98 installed on my computer. Every time I try to run the Maintenance Wizard, when it comes to the Disc Defragmenter, it doesn’t work. Tho’ it ‘acts’ like it wants to, & by this I mean itgoes through the motions, but never makes it very far, no matter how long I leave it running. It starts & after a few minutes, it’ll show ‘1%’ which only stays for a couple of seconds, then it goes back to zero%. It does this over & over continuously. Every now & then, it may make it to 2%, but not very often. But even when it does, it does the same thing, only stays for a few seconds, then starts over again. I’ve done all I know to do, which is very little, but just can’t figure out what’s causing it to do this. Everything else works just fine, I have no problem surfing or anything like that. It has good speed & there’s nothing slow about it. No complaints at all. By the way, it’s a 56K modem if that makes any difference. Could you pleasehelp me try to figure out how to straighten this thing out? Hopefully, it’s something simple, but to me, at least for now, there’s not many things that I find simple about about this thing. No, i’m not really that bad off, but this one really has mestumped.
