make a new win98 boot disk

By rickybrick ·
anybody know a way to make a new win 98se boot disk...not a system copy ... a bonofide boot disk like comes with the operating system originally. mine is smooth wore out. I dont want to buy win 98 again just for the boot disk. It is important because it will format and partition a new hard drive for you from drive A:

You can download a self extracting image of the bootdisk. It extracts right onto any floppy disk you put in.

If you can still access the floppy disk ,copy the contents to another floppy or open the disk and note the files on it nad then create the disk by extracting the files from the Windows 98 CD-ROM

For Windows 98SE, it is a simple matter.

Just go to a running W98SE PC.

Go to Add/Remove programs.

Click on the startup disk tab.

Create your new startup disk.

(Insert the W98 CD if requested.)

This disk will be the SAME as the floppy that comes with W98.

The same process works for Windows Me.
The feature is not present in Windows 95.
