making dvd movies

By headpcconsult ·
I am in the process of turning digital home videos into dvds using dvd+rw drive. The discs say that they have up to 240 minutes of recording time with extra long play but the software I use doesn't have the option to set this. What software do youguys recommend? Do you have any tips for doing this?

I use Pinnicle Studio 8 and also Roxio's Video Wave. For capture from the Digital Camera and editing [including adding sound, intros, transitions, Pinnicle Studio 8 has more flexibility that Roxio's Video Wave. Both work well in capture, editing andcreating DVD's.

note: Pinnicle Studio 8 also makes WMV files for creating content for Windows Media Players. I've used both Windows Media Encoder and Pinnicle for creating content for Streaming media. Either one is good at it.

both programs have a "create disk" which after you capture, edit and render your digital movie, will use your DVD/CD-R burner to create discs depending upon what type you want to make[ DVD or CD based Video discs].
