I need to know how to manually set an IRQ but no one seems to want to share that info. My ATI 7500 needs to be assigned IT’S OWN IRQ (cannot share one so they say)…but ATI won’t tell me how!
When set to manual config., my KD7ADA soyo board set up allows me to either set IRQ to pci device or reserve. Ok…, now I have one IRQ listed as free, how do I assign my video card to it? Have asked soyo but get no response.
Running win98se (supposedely cannot change sys resources “By Design” I have read) My sys runs fine even though the 7500 curently shares an IRQ with IEEE comp device.
I have all newest drivers and bios for everything installed. The only problem I’m having is that when, and only when, I’m on the internet connected via cable modem and using IE6, anytime I attempt to resize the browser window using Min. or max., the screen freezes or goes black – mouse works, red light flickering (like it’s caught in a loop) ctl+alt+del inoperative. Have to hit reset/rebootto go back to normal. No problems resizing when offline or in anyother program.
I thought that if I reassign the IRQ for the video card it would clear up the problem. Can’t think of anything that would cause this.
Norton sys wks 02 pro w/go back finds no problems, no conflicting devices. Have wiped and reinstalled windows and ie a few times. Have all the newest fixes and patches installed “by the numbers” Local shops and techs are stumped.
