Map Network Drive

By tnunetworksupport ·
We are trying to find a way to present our users with the nice, pretty "Map Network Drive" dialog box that you can access from Windows Explorer. However, this is in a Citrix Metaframe XPe environment and we do not want to make Windows Explorer available to them.

Does anyone know a command or command string to bring up just the "Map Network drive" dialog box?

Thanks!!

go to start, then Run, in the dialog box enter the path of the network drive you want to get access to such as:

Thanks for the input. I see now that I forgot to mention that we are not using a published desktop. We are using published applications only.

Currently, we have instructed our users to open Word (or any other MS Office application), then click on FILE, OPEN, and the the Open dialog box, click on TOOLS, then select MAP NETWORK DRIVE.

Have you tried running Login scripts. I don't know if it is possible with your setup, but it may be worth a try. When a user runs the script it will automatically create the network drive. You'll have to check if you OS support loging scripts and mapping. In Windows the script would include the "Net use [UNC]" command.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for your input. However, what I'm looking for is a method to allow 3000+ users to map drives without the use of Published Desktops, Windows Explorer, or logon scripts.

I would --really-- like to know how to create a published application, that when opened, will bring up the "Map a network drive" dialog box.

Thanks again.
