Matrox card failure in NT/2000

by dcoyle . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

Using relatively new Matrox G450 dual video cards, in a both HP and IBM P3′ and P4’s. Found there are inconsistencies between these cards which appear exactly the same (ie. G45FMDVP32DB). Build the PC’s from scratch, and when do any changes to video settings, eg. adjust from 16 bit to 24 bit. Or just swapping with a different monitor/flat screen can destroy the video altogether. As you move the mouse, it kind of drags the screen with it, different colors, etc. Re-installing SP3, the video drivers (latest or slightly older) doesn’t help. I heard of a tweak, but was wondering if anyone had a fix for this OUT THERE! Before I have to call Matrox and go through all the motions with their tech support.
Using w2K, sp3, all MS updates, PC Anywhere, MS Office, McAfee a/v and 5 trading softwares. Had a suspicion it might be a conflict with PC Any, but not sure.
Any tips or if anyone has seen this before would save me a lot of trouble. Thx in advance…
