If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
MICROSOFT AU THROWS WINDOWS 7 CUSTOMERS TO THE WOLVES?
so i called microsoft they said no problems we put you on to one of our technical people . the tech with my permission remotely scanned my computer and told me the problem was spyware and could fix it in a couple of minutes
Then the sales pitch $149 , $299, $399 and obviously my uneasy feeling. I hadn't used this os on the web so how could it have viruses or spyware so i copied our conversation and ended it.
It turns out the tech wasn't from microsoft but from "MY TECH GURUS" which microsoft certifies but doesn't tell you it is passing you over to an outside company which you inturn let peruse your computer thinking it is a microsoft technician . Very scarey !!
End result ; I went to my local computer store and explained my situation and how microsoft support had handled my problem. They laughed but said lucky you were suspicious , your computer hasn't got any spyware simply an install gliche so reinstall and should be fine and it was and the help was free.
I am concerned that i think microsoft support puts you into a situation were you are likely to be riped off though.
Is this normal?. If it is i'm glad my core imformation is on an apple system.
