Microsoft exchange 2003 and SBS

By sfalaptops ·
I am changing providers and I want to make sure about the IP address for email and SBS are set up properly. I have SBS 2003 and my internet ip address is different than my email server. I can see on my network connections the IP address for my internet connection and that won't be a problem but for some reason I am now a little confuse about my exchange server. My DNS is hosted outside my network and they basically forward email to us (there is record). Do I need to change any other IP address for exchange to work? I am guessing that the company hosting DNS based on record will forward email to us, this email will go through firewall and it will be deliver base on DNS name not IP address, correct? Maybe I am wrong.
