Microsoft has acknowledged Linux is competitor.

Microsoft has acknowledged that Linux is a competitor of some platforms. Most notably in the netbook and server platforms.

Maybe hardware manufacturers and game developers will pay a little more attention now. On the other hand, it seems that the Linux crowd is fracturing - long time kenal developers leaving because of disagreements with Linus Torvalds.

Few game developers write for netbooks or servers.

Like it or not...

IMO if you want to find out the latest and greatest in systems, check out the "recommended system requirements" on the hottest games. You will see it. I know people who run Linux, love it, but the vast majority of them run a program OR keep a dual boot of Windows just to play games.

The giant behemoth called Microsoft is slowlying turning and admiiting that Linux is the competitor.

It validates that Linux is a competitor and means that, the community better get their S**T together..
