Microsoft has acknowledged that Linux is a competitor of some platforms. Most notably in the netbook and server platforms.

Maybe hardware manufacturers and game developers will pay a little more attention now. On the other hand, it seems that the Linux crowd is fracturing – long time kenal developers leaving because of disagreements with Linus Torvalds.
