Migration from Pop3 Server to Exchange

By sklemis ·
Hello All
I have set up Exchange 2007 and configured it with one mailbox for the time being as i have a pop3 program taking care of mail.
I want to migrate users accross slowly so i have set up a forward for my mail to my exchange mailbox

the only problem is when i mail anyone on the same domain as me it looks for the reciepient locally as it shoudl do.

Is there a way to tell exchane to forward the mail for all non existant users back to the SMTP so i can more users over slowly and still allow internal communication???
Thanks in advance?

You will want to know if the mail clients were configured to leave mail on server, if not, then the only copies of the users inboxes will be dispersed amongst the machines. You will prbably want to have that stuff moved to an archive on a network drive, or moved directly in to exchange for backup purposes.

You are also going to need to have the public MX record updates with public IP of the new mail server when it goes live. And correct the public reverse lookup if it is set.

First create Everyone's mailbox on Exchange.
Configure every outlook for using Exchange AND pop3 in the same mailbox.
Then redirect the MX record.
