i need to migrate a windows 2003 WSS 2.0 to a new windows 2008 server. we have a sql server installed as of now installed on the 2003 server.
i have already installed the WSS 3.0 sp2 (x64 bit version) on a windows 2008 server Machine but it does not have the Active Directory.
we have two 2003 servers with active directory replicated in both if them and 2008 server is the new machine without active directory.
Is it possible to use one of the 2003 machines for authentication, while the WSS 3.0 will be on 2008 machine or do i also need a replica of the active directory on the 2008 machine ?
how do transfer the data from WSS 2.0 to WSS 3.0 x64 sp2 ? please help.
