Mitel VoIp setup with HP procurve Vlan Tagging

By guam.ryan ·
We are in the process of implementing Mitel VoIp with HP procuve switches. Default Vlan (data),Vlans 30 (Voice).

Mitel 3300 we will be using its DHCP for the VoIP phones on Vlan30. The default vlan data using MS Dhcp server.

The questions
1)Will the above config work? If so, how will the port that Mitel dhcp is plugged to be set Tagged/untagged?

Help pls, We are able to understand the vlan concept but not sure about the above setting.

If the port to the Mitel dhcp will carry traffic for different vlans then you need to TAG it on every vlan and set the ip address for that device as ip helper address in every vlan that this device is going to provide dhcp service to using this:
#vlan ...
#ip helper address <ip address of the mitel server>

and if it's only carrying traffic for 1 vlan and dhcp for only that vlan, then UNTAG it under that vlan and give the device ip address within the range of that vlan.
