No easy fix unless your AC power line voltage is dropping or fluctuating.

The simplest fix is going to be replacing the monitor.

What's happening, is that the high voltage power supply inside the monitor is starting to fail.

THIS NEEDS TO BE SERVICED BY A QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN!
There is very high (40,000 Volts) voltage inside the monitor.

On the assumption that this problem is specific to this monitor (ie, not caused by external events), then an H.T. Transformat/rectifyer/regulator problem is lightly. This can be confermmed by displaying dark and light images. If the picture tends to srink with bright images, the H.T. Is failing.

Other problems could be monitor adjustments. Check for pin cushin, trapezoid and related settings. Also, try degause.

Though monitors can have a long service life, I have found repair, and even spar parts more expensive that a new unit :-(. Though a monitor shop, may have a part form a dead unit, and may be worth an inspection fee.

Also possible a capacitor has popped - have you ever heard a loud crack from monitor at any time but more likely at switch on. Had similar prob with 17" monitor. Desktop shrunk to centre 3 or 4 inches of screen and kept flickering.
