More rnaapp

By GoLTGaea ·
I have experienced the rnaapp problem too, on a variety of computers. I've noticed that if you are using a computer that does this, that you can minimize the effect by checking the Close Program box after disconnecting from the internet and before logging off the computer. If rnaapp is there, it Ends Task a easier than if you shut down with it still engaged and then reboot and find it still there. If you are able to get it to end task you can almost always immediately connect with no trouble. My question is, does anyone know if the below article is accurate, or of some other way to force rnaapp to let go? There's got to be some work around for such a pervasive problem. I found this suggestion: ( 2.What is Rnaapp.exe? Why does it lock up? If you use the Dial-Up Network of Windows, you might have experienced the following:

1.The computer locks up.
2.When you press Ctrl-Alt-Del, you can see Rnaapp.exe in the task list.
3.When you kill it in the task list, everything is OK again.

You might have wondered what Rnaapp.exe is, as you did not start it yourself. RNAAPP means Remote Network Access Application, and is part of the Dial-Up Network. Why does it lock up? NOBODY KNOWS, OR AT LEAST NOBODY WANTS TO TELL.
Fortunately, there is a procedure that might solve the problem for you.
Download the ISDN Accellerator Pack 1.1 from Microsoft. Don't worry about the name, you can install it whether you are using a modemor ISDN. Ignore the ISDN-only files it installs. It includes updates to many components of Dial-Up Networking, including Rnaapp.exe. For many, this fixed the problem. The "new" Dial-Up Networking has more features. For example, it includes the Dial-Up server from the Plus! pack and you can switch off the confirmation window when starting a dial-up connection.
