Mother board setup menues

By nhiep_nguyen ·
I am using a BFI mother board and used to be able to modify items in the setup at boot time (by hitting the "DEL" key. Now when I enter the setup menu all the items are greyed out and I cannot change any (for example changing the drive boot order). I've been told it is due to the lack of the administrator password, although when I enter the setup I enter one password which is accepted. Anyone can thell me what to do to be able to modify my setup again? Thanks

You should be able to reset the CMOS memory, and wipe out the pasword and issues.

Shut down the PC.
Set the clear CMOS jumper, or remove the battery and power cord for 1 hour.
Boot up the PC.
Shut down.
Replace the battery.
Boot up, you should have full access to the setup options.

Would that reset all the items to original values without my control of it?
