I recently replace a motherboard. I booted the computer up was working fine, then the monitor would go out. Was I supposed to do something in the BIOS or anything else?????

You may have a driver issue.

I suspect however, that if everything was working properly, that the video card is not fully seated in it's slot.

An AGP video card needs to be fully and squarely seated in order to function.
The edge connector needs to only be a few 0.001" out of the slot to cause a bad connection.

You don't mention how long the computer will operate before the monitor goes dark, it sounds to me like the power management is playing up.

Try turning it off in the bios and see if this helps.
