mouse / video adapter issue

By sgthulka ·
Have an issue with image following mouse pointer, approximately 1 inch vertical line follows mouse pointer at approx 1/8 inch to right of pointer. Have tried reinstalling mouse and video drivers, but problem persists.

There is an error in the device driver for the mouse.
The pointer is actually a box with all pixels transparent except the pointer.
Due to a programming error the last pixel in each row is not transparent, as it is supposed to be.
The first test is to change to a different brand of mouse. (Different driver)(Mice are common.)
It is unlikely that the video card is bad,
Although some mouse driver functions are passed to and implemented in some video cards.
Try changing the mouse first, it is a lot cheaper and easier test.
Regards, Chris
