Moving swap file to network drive?

By fsposaro ·

I'm trying to move the swap files on a Windows 2003 server to a targa network (NFS) drive. Don't ask me why I just have to do what I'm told. I went to the virtual memory properties under performance and I'm only able to select one of the disk drives.

If anyone can help, that'll be great.

Even if it was possible you would take a severe performance hit as the network would have a massive increase in traffic.

But you can only move the Swap File or Page File to physical Disc's on any HDD's in the computer that the OS is installed on. Also Windows is unable to work directly off a NFS Partition as that is something that Windows Can Not Read!

Thanks for your input. They are going to have to come up with another solution.
