MS Outlook 97 is dead!

By aplusweb ·
On one non-networked machine, Outlook completely died! There is no Mail icon on the Control Panel, and no other "settings" icon. When you left-click on the .exe, it gives the FILE properties, not the mail properties. What could be wrong? Do I need another liscence / copy of outlook?

IF you d/click the icon dose it start the installer?

If not go to add/remove and install mail from their,

Easiest would be to reinstall though.

97 can be a real sod when it goes wrong

Sounds like windows messaging has been uninstalled. I would try reinstalling Outlook from CD.

I would uninstall Outlook and then reinstall and reconfigure. It sounds like something got hosed up. Something got deleted or uninstalled.

There are two ways to recreate it. 1 reinstall office 97 it will replace any pieces that are missing. 2 like stated earlier add the windows messaging service back.
