MSCEP (SCEP) won’t obtain certificate from local CA – Cisco VPN

by dave . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

I have Microsoft certificate services installed on a member server which is used b Cisco routers to obtain a certificate from the CA. SCEP installed fine and I am able to navigate to http://servername/certserv and see the website where VPN users will obtain their root certificate. I can also navigate to this site from the outside world using the IP address and see the same page. Before you configure the Cisco router to utilize the CA you are supposed to create a root certificate by navigating to http://servername/certserv/mscep/mscep.dll but each time I try to hit that site from the member server on which the CA and SCEP is installed, I get 2 error messages in the event log. (applications / Server 2003) “SCEP ADD-ON could not be loaded because of an unspecified error 0x80004005” and “SCEP cannot retreive CA certificate 0x80070057 the parameter is incorrect”

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m aparently missing something and haven’t found the answer on the web.
