My computer shows no disk drives at all – but I can access them in explorer

Hi, I searched the web for my problem and can’t find an answer. It is not as simple as choosing the Classic menu in taskbar properties.

I have 1 Domain controller on server 2003 with exchange 2003. It is an HP Proliant server.

Everything work fine, but I can’t list disks in My Computer.

– no My Computer icon on the desktop
– If I open a folder on the desktop, type c:\ in the address bar and hit “folder up” button, I can see the My computer window, but with no disks, no floppy, no cd, nothing listed.
– If I open NTBackup, I can’t see my drive in the treeview. However, I can backup all drives using an existing Backup selection.
– If I open explorer.exe, no drives appear, but if I type c:\ in the address bar, all drives sudenly appear in the treeview, but only for that window
– The windows search option is able to list the drives

Nothing has been changed on the server except probably an automatic update, but no hardware change, no software change, no USB device connected, no new group policies.

So it is basically a kind of explorer problem, but I can’t find a solution to it.

Anyone ever experienced that and have a solution for this?

Thanks
