I have installed a new hard drive, 30 GB, and loaded Win98se. When running scandisk it spontaneously reboots when it is checking the 44,xxx clusters on the hard drive. It was doing this with my old hard drive which then developed bad sectors. I ran a diagnostic program which passed the motherboard and the cpu and memory, etc. It also passed the hard drive.
