All OS’es on which it runs are fine. The hardware should at least have the minimum requirements, but it’s better if it meets the recommended requirements. https://www.postud.io/blog/adobe-lightroom-system-requirements/ tells more.
You might find the screen quality a factor to consider also.

Is that it rarely matters UNLESS the OS (operating system) is woefully out of date for example Windows XP or 7.
My friend who does so much Adobe PS and Lightroom does so on a newer Apple Macbook 16 inch with its latest M3 chip. He tells me “It’s very nice.”

For using Adobe Lightroom, the best operating system is one that meets the minimum system requirements. For desktop use, both Windows 10 (64-bit) version 1909 or later and macOS Catalina (version 10.15) or later are suitable. For mobile devices, Adobe Lightroom is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, including tablets and iPads.

For the best Adobe Lightroom experience, go with the latest iOS or Android operating systems on flagship smartphones like the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy series. These devices offer optimal performance and support for advanced features.

Hello,
For desktop use, Windows and macOS offer the most comprehensive Lightroom experience. Both platforms provide optimized performance and access to all features. High-end models with powerful processors and ample RAM will significantly enhance Lightroom’s capabilities.
For mobile use, both iOS and Android offer Lightroom apps with essential editing tools. However, the desktop versions generally provide more advanced features and better performance for extensive photo editing. -

In reply to my question is about Adobe Lightroom
It sounds like there’s already a lot of great advice in this thread about using Adobe Lightroom across different operating systems. I’m curious to know from everyone—if you had to choose between using Lightroom on a desktop (like Windows or macOS) versus a mobile device (iOS or Android), which would you prefer and why? Personally, I’ve found that desktop versions offer more advanced features, but I’d love to hear if anyone has had a great experience with mobile editing. Any tips for getting the best performance on smartphones, especially when dealing with larger photo libraries?
