My TEchRep Account closed??

three days ago i relised that i couldn't log on to techrep using my logon name and password. thinking i had forgotten mu password, aasked for a tempolary one and this one didn't work either.
i tried opening a new acount using all the previous inf, only the password was still an issue. i am now using all the previous inf except for the email address. is it possible for techrep to close accounts like some people have been experiencing with hotmail?

No,it has not been noted that TechRep would close an account due to inactivity,my expierence since being with the forum is that an account will be closed only upon request from tech member.
Yet there have been instances where that has been inactivity for a period of time that overlap the yearly updates to the site that some accounts would be closed,so your problem may exist with using or changing your password without contacting Tech Rep first has caused a problem with your account,send them an email about your account closure,they are slow to reply but the problem can be resolved.

TR recently did some 'upgrading' and some things got messed up. Email them and they should be able to help get your account back.

I usually log on to check things out 6 days each week (thats by work schedule here at the office). The past 9 days however, I've not been rewarded with the 50 log on points. When that happened 3 or 4 days after they turnkeyed their UPDATE, I eMailed them to ask them to check on it, it took another 10 days or more for it to be corrected. Now it's happening again, so I give up.

Wonder if they had Microsoft do their update. That at least would explain all of tyhe bugs.. ;-)

P.S. Maxwell, this was only a comment, and not a solution. No points necessary --..

As stated, you are likely experiencing a problem related to the site update.

You might need to check what cookies you have blocked related to Tech Republic, CNET, and ZDNET.
If any of the above are blocked, that may prevent you from logging in.

For DS9, the points awards have been revised. There is no longer a point award for logging in, or for signing up for Tech-Mails.

There is a 1000 point award for each question that you close.
