NAT Port Forwarding: Connection Refused

by deepspace . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

Hi!

Here is small suggestion in configuring NAT Port Forwarding:

If you place “space caracter” between two words in Comment box, port will NOT be forwarded anymore.

Private IP Type Port Comment
—————————————————–
192.168.0.100 TCP 5900 Ultra_VNC_(will_do)
192.168.0.100 TCP 5900 Ultra VNC (will NOT)

Very strange behavior in many routers. There is usualy no warning about this.

I have spent few days to find it out.

Suggestion: just a line in NAT configurating documet would be enough, like:
“Do not ever place spaces in firewall Comment line.”

Good Luck, novatehnika

keywords:

– Failed to connect to server
– No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
– The connection was refused when attempting to contact 192.168.0.1:5900.
– Stupid Firewall.
– Blind Administrator.
