This has happened to me twice now – please help I need my dsl connection. I have a AMD 2000 cpu, 512 MB, Radeon AIW – Win XP. I have a DSL Connection with an Efficient 4060 modem that was working perfectly until yesterday. I started messing around with network settings – trying to share the connection across a hub – because it is a usb modem. After that I cannot connect my modem. In fact even if I dial my isp the cpu connects but Internet Explorer will not come up. I have tried reinstalling the DSL modem twice to get the ip address to renew but no luck. When I run ipconfig renew it says “no socket available ” right now it says that no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation. The modem has a steady green light and works fine with my laptop. There is just one setting wrong in networking with internet explorer. Please help. Thanks.
