Need help with finding a compatible soundcard

By venatator ·

I just bought some new speakers, they work with the AUX output which is 2.1, plugged into my monitor. I do know that my speakers are 5.1, if I have the right soundcard. Which im willing to buy, I just simply don't know what to buy, or if it will work for my PC or not. Can anyone help me?

Motherboard: Z170-P ASUS
Budget: 100$ (Flexible)

Not sure what you are asking here

Your M'Board has as the ASUS Site describes

Realtek® ALC887 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC *2
- Supports : Jack-detection, Front Panel Jack-retasking
Audio Feature :
- LED-illuminated design - Brighten up your build with the gorgeous illuminated audio trace path.
- Audio Shielding: Ensures precision analog/digital separation and greatly reduced multi-lateral interference
- Dedicated audio PCB layers: Separate layers for left and right channels to guard the quality of the sensitive audio signals
- Premium Japanese-made audio capacitors: Provide warm, natural and immersive sound with exceptional clarity and fidelity

So as your M'Board has 8 Chanel Sound you say your new speakers are 2.1 or are you asking if you plug your speakers into the computer as apposed to the monitor that they are 5.1 they will work as 5.1 Surround Sound as the Jacks in the computer are Autosensing.

The Monitor on the other hand is just that a Monitor with Audio Jacks plug the speakers directly to the computer not the monitor and they'll work just fine.

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI HD USB Audio System with phonopreamp would be a good buy. You can record and organize your music easily. It even lets you convert your vinyls to CD or mp 3. I’m pretty sure won’t be disappointed with this one.
