    Need modem drivers

    Does anyone know how to locate drivers for A Smart Modular Technologies, Inc., modem with sound model #90079 UL File E153169. Win ’98/Hewlett Packard Pavilion 8650C? I would prefer not to deal with HP on this.

      For a LOT of OEM hardware, the ONLY place to get the driver is from the system manufacture.

      Downloading drivers is fairly easy at http://www.hp.com

      Do you have a system restore disk?

      The drivers should be on there.

      My recommended alternate, is http://www.driverguide.com
      It is possible that someone else decided to post the driver on the site.

      Depending on how close to a standard implementation the card is, you may be able to identify the modem and sound chips, and use the chip manufactures “reference” drivers.
