palazzini why are you hesitating to promote from class C to class B ip set ? change your net mask from to 255.255.X.0 according to the number of subnets you wish to have . This will "disturb" your subnet . One other trick may be use a NAT server to show a certain amount of pcs in one fake subnet and the others in another pool. This might force two DHCP servers issuing different pools of ip , with NAT on them . But this is bizzare and not a "formal" method. When things go wrong it is difficult to trace .

Also don't forget to adjust the interface
(netmask) on all systems that don't use DHCP!!!.

All netmasks within a subnet should be equal.
