    NEED PROGRAM THAT WILL DOWNLOAD WEBSITES

    I AM LOOKING FOR A PROGRAM THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO GO TO A WEB SITE AND DOWNLOAD ITS CONTENTS. FOR EXAMPLE LETS SAY I AM AT A SITE FOR POETRY AND THEY HAVE A TABLE OF CONTENTS THAT IS ABOUT TWENTY LINKS LONG. I WANT A PROGRAM THAT WILL DOWNLOAD THESE TWENTY PAGES OR LINKS WITH OUT ME HAVING TO GO TO EACH SITE AND SAVE IT ONE AT A TIME. ANY IDEAS? ALSO TELL ME ABOUT THE FEATURES AND THE EASE OF USE.

      Soory, I clicked Submit too soon.
      SiteSnagger is real easy to use. It has a imple options page that allows you to pick the depth of links to follow from your statring point (0 means just the target page, 1 means the target page and all pages it links to, 2 means the target and all of it’s linked pasges and all of the links from those pages…) You can choose weather or not to follow links that go Off-Site (great for not getting advertising and stuff). It get’s multimedia files if you want it to. You can limit the total number of downloaded pages to any number, or not limit it at all. By default, it will modify the HTML of the downloaded pages so that you can surf the whole site from your hard drive, and it will also produce a simple Table of Contents HTML file with a clickable link to every downloaded file. It can also be configured with a proxy server. It can handle password protected sites if you use the old HTTP trick of putting the username and password into the URL (http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@www.dom

      Your request can be solved by off-line browsing. The simple method is IE
      1) In the menu: Favorites –> Add to favorites —> click the box in “make available offline” –> choose the button “customise” –> then a wizard will come out –> “next” –> then a small windows can be seen: There is a question: Would you like to download the links of this sites?
      click the box on “yes” & choose the levels you wants.
      Then it will do;
      2) If you like some other methods: go to “www.tucows.com” in the categories choose off-line browsers. Then you can choose the freeware or shareware available.

      Try wget.
      GNU Wget is a freely available network utility to retrieve files from the World Wide Web using HTTP and FTP, the two most widely used Internet protocols. It works non-interactively, thus enabling work in the background, after having logged off.
      Download from your preferable GNU site (list of mirrors http://www.gnu.org/prep/ftp.html) from gnu/wget directory.

      Another nifty solution to this is offered by AvantGo. Not only can it grab the pages you are looking for, but is can also sync them up to any PalmOS device, as well as some web enabled cellphones for handy browsing on the go!

      the downside is that you will have to sign up for an account. The good news is thaty is’s free, and I havnt received a box-o-spam. Well not yet anyway. They also offer a ‘wanted’ Bulletin Board in case you dont find what you’re looking for there.
