Net1 Trojan

By Jennifer.Gardner ·
One of my users told me that her home PC is infected with the Net1 Trojan, and asked for my advice in cleaning it. I did a quick search, but couldn't find anything by this name. Is anyone familiar with Net1?

If they have xp,ME have them disable system restore. I would have them run an updated spybot search and dertroy or adaware first. Then update their AV program and see if it will find and delete the file.

If that does not work. I don't know how skilled that person is but here is what I got. If they have xp,ME have them disable system restore.

First, remove this registry key:
Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Login Service = wingate.exe

Then reboot the computer and remove this file:

%windir%\system32\wingate.exe.

You can also have them d\l stinger.exe install update it, then run it see it catches it.
