ProSafe Firewall/Print Server with VPN Endpoint.
Hey guys,
I just bought this thing, placed it between my network and my cable modem, updated the firmware to the latest version, blocked UDP floods in the Server properties and it’s having a hard time renewing it’s IP address with my ISP (Charter).
I have to reboot the thing everytime it goes out to get an IP address renewal. I also have ZoneAlarm Pro for the software firewalls on the other three machines. What gives here? I contacted Netgear and they’re telling me to shut off my software firewalls…ummm, not a chance.
There is an option for allowing Internet Ping requests in the appliance but what’s the point of having the thing if I need to enable this option just to keep renewing the IP from my ISP?
Somebody please help me before I end up using the bloody thing for a doorstop. TIA
